COURSE TITLE: Techniques of Hand Soldering

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course covers the terminology and techniques of hand soldering. There will be presentations showing proper procedure for soldering new boards as well as reworking and repairing old boards. The majority of the course will be used as hands on training to perfect techniques.

TEXTBOOK: Lecture notes will be provided in a 3 ring binder. All students will be provided with a soldering iron and solder. Other tools and materials will be provided for use in the classroom.

DURATION OF COURSE: Six (6) hours - 2 sessions 3 hours per session.

CERTIFICATE: The student must not miss any sessions. The student must participate in all class exercises. He/she must satisfy the instructor that at least a minimal level of practical comprehension and skill has been attained.

SKILLS: The student that completes at least the minimum required to receive a certificate of completion should be able to:
Solder free standing wires and components.
Tin the soldering iron tip.
Assemble and solder a thru hole type PC board.
Remove and replace defective components on above board.
Identify good and poor solder joints.
Select solder and tools for electronic soldering.
FEE: One student - 0% - $125.00 per person
Two to Five students - 5% - $118.75 per person
Six to Ten students - 10% - $112.50 per person
More than Ten students - 15% - $106.25 per person
Full payment is required if cancellation within seven (7) days of start date. Course material only payment, if applicable, is required if cancellation within fourteen (14) days of start date. Cancellations may effect final billing based on fee per student with any quantity discounts.
